Football， also known as soccer， is a sport in which two teams of 11 players each compete to kick a round ball into the opposing team’s goal. The team that scores the most goals wins the game. The rules of football are simple and easy to understand.
Each team consists of a goalkeeper， four defenders， four midfielders and three forwards. The goalkeeper is the only player on the team allowed to use their hands to touch the ball， and must stay within the goal area. Midfielders are positioned between the defenders and forwards and are responsible for transitioning the ball from one end of the field to the other. The two teams are given two 45-minute halves to attempt to score as many goals as possible. The team with the most goals at the end of the game is the winner. If the score is tied at the end of the game， either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time or a penalty shootout.

Offside occurs when a player is positioned in front of the last defender when the ball is played to them. Handball occurs when a player touches the ball deliberately with their hand.
